Sarah has developed the best Prenatal and Post-natal Pilates exercise videos for expectant moms, focused on their fitness needs at each stage of pregnancy and after they have given birth. Prenatal Pilates is based directly on Pilates and modified for the special requirements of each trimester. Then…look good, feel fit and have fun with your baby as Sarah and her 15 week old son Ben guide you through the Post-natal Pilates workout. “What better way to flatten your stomach than while bonding and playing with your baby,” says Picot.

Sarah has worked as a professional dancer, dancing in New York, with an eclectic mix of companies including, the NY Knicks City Dancers, American Ballroom Theatre and Complexions. She has taught at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center, Steps, Musical Theatre Works and The Washington School of Ballet where she is currently on faculty teaching Ballet, Modern and Pilates (a program she instituted). Her film credits include The Bone Collector, Random Hearts and The Thomas Crowne Affair.

It is through her background in dance that Sarah first came to cross paths with Pilates. The original form of exercise was created and developed by Joseph Pilates whose clients included the renowned George Balanchine and Martha Graham. From the mid 1960’s forward, many dancers incorporated the Pilates workout into their own training and fitness regimes.

Hot in Hollywood, celebrity Pilates fans include: Lucy Lawless, Gwyneth Paltrow, Daisy Fuentes, Courtney Cox, Sarah Jessica Parker, Madonna, Carrie-Anne Moss, Kim Catrall, Catherine Bell, Jennifer Aniston, Charlize Theron and the list goes on.

Great news for moms-to-be, Prenatal Pilates is OB/GYN endorsed. “We believe that a strict adherence to these well-designed Pilates exercises will enhance every pregnant mother’s antepartum care for nine months and will shorten labor and delivery for those mothers who take time to participate faithfully in these programs,” say James S. Powers OB/GYN and Francis T. Bergin OB/GYN.

Turks and Caicos Islands Welcomes Master Pilates & Reiki Teacher Lynda Lippin

Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands, BWI (PRWEB) May 17, 2006

According to the Winter 2007 issue of S3 Magazine, “Pilates is now a viable option in the TCI.” Lynda Lippin, recognized as one of the top Pilates trainers in the world, is teaching Pilates Mat, Ball, and Pilates equipment classes and private trainings at Bodies In Motion Gym at the Graceway Sports Center.

The original “core strengthening” Pilates method of exercise was developed in the early 1900s by Joseph Pilates, a German national who believed everyone should exercise, no matter how old or injured. He stated, “You are only as old as your spine.” Pilates came up with idea of using hospital bed springs to exercise injured soldiers and internees when he was interned by the British as an “enemy alien” on the Isle of Man during WWI. Pilates then left Germany and brought his talents to New York in 1926 with the help of two of his clients, boxers Nat Fleischer and Max Schmelling.

Lippin is certified to teach Pilates, Gait Training, Pilates for Osteoporosis, & Pilates for Golf, and is one of only 54 Pilates teachers in the world to be chosen by the Pilates PhysicalMind Institute
